I’ve started making bags from discarded banners and one thing I didn’t think of, or discover until after they were finished, is that they are dirty. Like dirty, sooty, leave-your-fingers-black-when-you-touch-it dirty. So I had the bright idea of putting the pieces in the washing machine on the delicate cycle. I don’t dare put them in the dryer. I hung them up for a colorful clothesline.
This was taken many years ago during a doga-yoga class. Scotty was such a good boy at this.
I think this is a really good reminder for us all creative types. There are days when we’re down because things just aren’t selling, or no one seems to want to hear about our greatest new adventure/discovery, or what we’re trying to make just isn’t coming together in the way we imagined.
On days like those, I just remember that creativity for its own sake is its own reward. It is said that…
I’m a big fan of material; patterned material, silk material, cotton material, material with patterns, stripes, polka dots, etc.

I’m attempting some bags made out of banners and Rogue decided to “help” by holding down the material.
Lettuce sprouts! I’m so excited!
I was walking downtown recently and passed by a beautiful young girl; hair done, makeup perfect, in the most flattering outfit. She walked with such grace and ease, and seemed to have such a comfortable way about her.
I have never been that person.
See, I think like most (young) people, I wanted to be pretty and gorgeous and wear the nicest best clothes and have perfect hair and…
